God and Carrots

I am writing this down because I do not want to forget it. It was priceless at the time, but there is no way it can come across in writing as cute as it was when it actually happened.

The kids and I try to say our prayers every night and since Jackson has attended Vacation Bible School this summer, he likes to say the prayers himself and then wants me to repeat what he says. He usually comes up with some pretty good ones. They have a lesson with the preacher every Tuesday at Mother's Day Out, so I think he is picking up a lot from that also. This is how the prayer went last night......

"God.... God is always with us...... He doesn't play with us....... He just watches us from the sky........ And he is always with us....... He is in our hearts...... He watches us from the sky........ He sits in a big chair........ And eats lots of carrots...... And just watches us...... Jesus Christ..... Amen"

There are lots of pauses with the "......." because he thinks very deliberately about what he wants to say. After the prayer, I was laughing to myself because he was so cute and sincere and then asked him why he thinks God eats lots of carrots, did the preacher say something about carrots? Jackson's answer was "You told me that we should eat carrots because they are good for our eyes and help us to see good. God must eat a lot of carrots if he can see us all the way from the sky." I thought it was a very good answer and agreed with him. I love to see the way his little mind works! Too sweet!

Long Time, No Blog

It has been a long time since I have posted pictures, so here are pictures of a few of the things we have done over the last month. Because I am still new at blogging, the pictures are in reverse order!

Clint had been counting down the days and the kids and I were all excited, too, for the first Aggie football game of the season. Unfortunately, the game did not turn out very well, but we still had a great time!
The whole Patrick Group (minus two) ready for the big game!

This must have been a very intense play.

It can get a little loud in the stadium.

The funnest part - playing on the field!

Down, Set, Hut!

The Patrick Men

We had a fun day at the Circus and Chuck E. Cheese. Can it get any better than that?

We had a fun end of summer party!

Clint dressed Abbey in boy pajamas and gave her a mullet! (I was not pleased!)

We took a walk to the Eagle Football field and of course, had to be in full uniform. Abbey practiced her sideline cheers.

Jackson practiced his football.
